Tranquility by CodyFitzgerald Tranquility by CodyFitzgerald
"I am NOTHING. I am EVERYTHING. I am TRANQUILITY."

What started off originally as a study on the creation of planetary rings took on it's own form after about 2 days. Maybe when I feel a bit more creative I'll create a story for this mysterious planet, but for now I'll provide you with the base facts.

The planet is capable of supporting life, with a Nitrogen and Oxygen rich atmosphere.
The rings around the planet are comprised mostly of ice crystals along with some debris. The four moons orbiting around the planet have created gaps in the rings (much like Saturn).
The powerful radiation of the nearby star creates a beautiful aurora above the planet. The length of the aurora's extension depends on the star's activity.

Great image but one thing bothers me. The rings are too close to the planet, and it's impossible for them to maintain their shap this close. But who cares, great image overall :)

Haha, we should all care! Good point and thank you :D Unfortunately, the original PSD is gone, so I am unable to make those tweaks :(

This is amazing! Would you mind if I use it when I practice photomanupilation? I'm not professional, I'm just trying to get better. If so, could I publish my creation on DeviantArt, as long as I give credit to you?

Not bad, you should try to making such goods planets always. It looks quite good, actually both - planets texture and ring are nice. I like how close to is the ring to the planet, and its angle - good choice. A bit work in the backgroudn you could do, it would be really great work, though I like it :)

Nice work! I like the details. How did you make the texture?

Just a little side note: maybe you want to fix those few straight lines in the planet's texture. Maybe by changing the blending mode of the layers.

Thank you! The texture was fabricated from at least 12 different Google Earth images of different regions in Africa, I believe. Could you point out which straight lines you are talking about?

Hmm...it's just that you can see the edges of the separate layers. In the center of the planet, there is one red layer for example that doesn't fit the environment perfectly. As well as one right next to it. Anyway, it's just a minor detail so don't get me wrong: I like your image very much =)

Oh wow yes there it is. I never would've noticed that if you didn't point it out, so thank you! :D
