Thoura From Space by CodyFitzgerald Thoura From Space by CodyFitzgerald
Thoura is home to over 210 million inhabitants, the fourth largest of any colony under the jurisdiction of the Unified Nations of Earth. Approximately 200 lightyears from Earth, Thoura orbits a class G2 star similar to that of the sun along with its sister planet Kyoa. Both contain an atmosphere of mostly Nitrogen and Oxygen although Kyoa has a lower vertical ceiling than Thoura.

Just an exercise of creating a realistic planet in C4D and setting it up in a more realistic environment. Therefore, I stayed away from lavish nebulas or a massive star field and left it sort of plain.

You're welcome. Is it okay if I link this image to one of my short stories?

210 Billion? is it a city world (meaning a world covered in a single large city)? Also I thought the closest star to earth was 4.5 light years away.

I apologize for that, the description was riddled with typos :P . It is a massive planet (think larger than Earth) but with a sparse living population (mostly located in the mountains). Again, the star is 200 lightyears (my mistake) :)

This is really detailed, but to sustain that much life you might want to include some bodies of water.
If there are any and they just aren't that visible then my mistake :P

Water is located in underground caverns and pockets near the poles. It is extracted through massive pipelines and taken directly to city centers in which they are then distributed to cities in farther mountains and those in the plains. Hope that helps a bit :)

Indeed it does, neat concept :)
What about some city lights?

I had the city lights map in there but I made the lights a bit too small :) Trial and error for next time though.

Really great. The asteroid belt in the foreground really brings it to life.
